Odysseas Androutsos

Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics

Dr. Odysseas Androutsos is an Associate Professor of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the Department of Nutrition-Dietetics, University of Thessaly. He has published 134 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and >130 oral or poster presentations in national and international scientific conferences (Scopus h-index: 30). Since 2008 he participates as the Principal Investigator, Project Manager or Member of research groups in national and international research programmes, funded by the European Commission or other bodies in Greece or self-funded actions. Dr. Androutsos is a member of the Editorial Board and reviewer in several scientific journals and reviewer in international conferences, books and research proposals for bodies such as the Min. of Health of Israel, the World Cancer Research Fund International, the Medical Research Center (UK), the Fund for Scientific Research (Belgium) and the Auckland Medical Research Foundation (New Zealand). He has supported as an external Scientific Consultant by the Ministry of Health of Malta and the National Institute of Health of Estonia the implementation of research programmes for the prevention of childhood obesity. His scientific work has received national and international awards, such as the «John M. Kinney Award» for one of his scientific papers in the field of Pediatric Nutrition. He is an elected member of the ESDN Obesity of EFAD and is lecturing in postgraduate courses, seminars and lifelong learning programmes in the field of “Nutrition and Dietetics”. Dr. Androutsos has also edited or written chapters in books, (co-)supervised >100 undergraduate or postgraduate theses and is the President or Member of educational, research or administrative committees at the University of Thessaly.
